Habits Matter

Reaching your goals can feel like a mountain climbing experience. In reality, the direction of our productivity is dependent upon our daily habits. These small habit changes can help you master your goals.

Habits Matter: Short tips on cultivating better habits to reach your goals.

Create A Master Schedule

Effective planning is the key to success. We all understand the importance of having a schedule but actually creating one that works for you can seem a bit overwhelming. Start small by making a list of all the things you need to get done (work assignments, schoolwork, weekly errands, etc.). Create time blocks for the most critical tasks and commit to not working on any other tasks during those times. Limit distractions by utilizing app limits on your smartphone or creating designated times to check social media.  Motivate yourself by crossing off finished tasks as a way to celebrate each accomplishment.

Go To Bed

Sleep is important for your physical and mental health. It is your body’s way to recharge and repair itself from everyday stressors. Give yourself a bedtime and stick to it. A good starting point is creating a nighttime routine that forces you to slow down and set up for the next day.

Eat Well

When we are in the middle of the grind we can forget to nourish our bodies with the fuel it needs to perform at an optimal level. Limiting processed food and sugar can help boost energy levels and mental clarity. Try meal prepping at the beginning of the week even if it means pre-scheduling lunch dates and researching healthier menu options. Keeping healthy snacks around your workspace can also help curb cravings.

Soul Care

We weren’t designed to be machines. Make sure you are setting aside time to refresh your soul. Read a book that isn’t about business or entrepreneurship, light your favorite candle and meditate, or schedule a phone call with a trusted friend. Taking time for yourself should be one of the most sacred components of your rhythm.

Conclusion..

Don’t allow today’s glamorization of the grind to make you feel helpless. Your unique level of production can be increased by simply examining negative habits to let go and begin new ones that promote success.
