Asking For Help Takes You Farther
Sometimes we must be reminded that it’s ok to ask for help. Grinding and hustling are already hard especially when having to balance family and work too. We know that we don’t want to work the rest of our lives and that we have a wonderful business idea, but try to be the CEO, CFO, CMO, ship and package, graphic designer, etc. We do all of this and still wonder why our business isn’t where we want it to be.
I’m here to tell you ASK FOR HELP!
Even Superman is Clark Kent sometimes and in both states, he has his kryptonite. It’s OK to take a break, it’s ok to ask people questions about business and how to make your processes easier, it’s ok to utilize your friends, family, people you’ve networked with, college students and youth’s talents. Doing so eliminates your kryptonite of being overworked, tired frustrated, too busy for family and being mentally drained.
You’re probably thinking those people are going to charge me, I don’t have money like that. Well, the reality is they might, but you’ll never know unless you ask. They say, “You have to spend money to make money” and that’s what I decided to do. I paid the Foster Consulting Firm to create the business plan that I was working on for years and never completed and then took some strategy sessions to get a good focus on what I needed to do to get my marketing and sales in order.
Though I knew a lot of the things she told me, I was having a hard time taking what I knew and planning out how and when to use it for my business. Vanessa organized my thoughts and guided me to where I knew I needed to be while also making sure I was focusing on myself and not becoming mentally drained with work, family and personal issues on top of trying to run my business. I am now in a better place and am excited about the progress that we have made.
I had to set my ego aside and admit that even though I may know how to do these things, for some reason they aren’t getting done. I simply had to admit that I needed help and saved up enough money to get it. My business is running more professionally, my marketing is becoming more consistent, I have a plan for the next 90 days of business, I am understanding the financial aspect of the business more and I am overall more confident in being able to make the ask (ask people to buy, share, etc.), More confident in asking for help and more confident intake my business to the next level.
Business is all about taking risks, learning lessons, and improving day after day. Today you can start improving by:
1. Admitting you need help.
2. Creating a list of things you need help with.
3. Finding and asking for help.
4. If you need money for your help start a budget and get saving.
You’re the most important part of your business, so take care of yourself and your business will follow.
